Douglas Huebner is a graduate of the distinguished Graduate Film Program at New York University where he wrote, produced and directed a number of short films. As part of his thesis program, he directed the feature THE PRIMAL GARDEN, a revenge thriller filled with seduction and double crosses. During the late 1990's Douglas, with Tom Rondinella, ran a post-production company specializing in picture and sound editing, totally supervising a film's completion through the post-production process. Credits include the feature film KILLERS (distributed worldwide by Peacock Films Inc.), CHARLIE HOBOKEN (released theatrically by Northern Arts Ent.) and DROP A DIME, among others. Doug then partnered with Tom to produce CHARMING BILLY, written and directed by Catfish Studios' partner William Pace, based on a story by Douglas, Rondinella and Pace. The film stars award-winning Broadway actor Michael Hayden, and features noted film thespians Sally Murphy and Chelsie Ross. CHARMING BILLY won several awards at various film festivals and was picked up for North American distribution by Wellspring Films and released on Home Video and DVD. The film was bought for broadcast by the Independent Film Channel, where it airs repeatedly. After producing CHARMING BILLY, Douglas and Tom and formed Catfish Studios to produce high-end corporate videos for such companies as Lucent Technologies, Grange Furniture, United Cerebral Palsy, Manhattan Transit Authority and recently produced a video for The World Addiction Foundation, "The Face of Addiction," that was presented at the United Nations General Assembly in October 2005. Catfish Studios has now taken its extensive filmmaking expertise and branched out to feature film production. The upcoming film UNHOLY, an intense new kind of horror film starring genre favorites Adrienne Barbeau (CARNIVALE, THE FOG) and Nicholas Brendon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) is the first film to be produced in association with Catfish Studios. Douglas is also a working screenwriter. He’s currently repped by agent John Huddle of the renowned agency International Creative Management. His lawyer is Karl Austen a partner in Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum & Morris whose other clients include Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, and Hilary Swank. Douglas’ manager is Jay Sanders of Donaldson Sanders Entertainment. Recent scripts include: TRAVELER, now being written under the development of John Baldecci Productions (THE MEXICAN, ULTRAVIOLET). His script EL DORADO was developed at InterMedia Films and is now out to the studios. SHE DIED TWICE, co-written with William Pace, was optioned to Splendid Pictures and producer, Andreas Klien (TRAFFIC). |
