Catfish Studios cofounder Thomas Rondinella attended the prestigious New York University Graduate Film School where he received the valuable Paulette Goddard Scholarship and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production. While still a student Tom also gained valuable experience working as a free-lance film editor for the Emmy award-winning filmmaker Lillian Schwartz.

Following graduation Tom immediately began work as a film editor, editing fifteen feature films, including FOOL AND HIS MONEY starring Sandra Bullock. And for nearly all the movies he has edited Tom also served as their Sound Designer.

Expanding his filmic talents to writing, Tom co-wrote the comedy ALL'S FAIR with Catfish Studio partner William Pace. The film starred George Segal and Sally Kellerman and was released theatrically by MovieStore Entertainment and showed extensively on HBO.

Tom then moved into the director's chair with BLADES, a comedy/action feature he co-wrote with William Pace and went on to edit the film also. BLADES was theatrically distributed and broadcast on both HBO and Cinemax.

Tom next directed the "unrelenting perky and fun" (as VARIETY called it) romantic comedy A Girls' Guide which he also again co-wrote with partner William Pace and served as its editor. A Girls' Guide has aired repeatedly on the USA Cable Network.

Tom was then commissioned to co-write the mystery TREETOPS with fellow Catfish Studios partner William Pace. The thrice-produced writing team has also written the gothic thriller WINTER BLOOD, which has been optioned three times. Tom co-wrote the romantic comedy HEART OF FORTUNE and on his own written the cloning adventure, MAN OF THE CLOTH.

Tom and William then partnered with long time colleague Douglas Huebner to produce William’s directorial debut, CHARMING BILLY. Tom also co-edited. CHARMING BILLY, which won four major film festival awards including Best Actor award at the AFI-LA International Film Festival before being distributed by Wellspring Entertainment. Today CHARMING BILLY is in continual rotation on the Independent Film Channel cable network.

After the success of that production, Tom and Douglas formed Catfish Studios to produce high-end corporate videos for such companies as Lucent Technologies, Grange Furniture, United Cerebral Palsy and Manhattan Transit Authority. In 2005 they produced a video for The World Addiction Foundation, "The Face of Addiction," that was presented at the United Nations General Assembly.

Utilizing its extensive filmmaking expertise, Catfish Studios recently branched out to feature film production. The upcoming film UNHOLY, an intense new kind of horror film starring genre favorites Adrienne Barbeau (CARNIVALE, THE FOG) and Nicholas Brendon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) is the first film to be produced in association with Catfish Studios.

Tom is also an Associate Professor at Seton Hall University where he uses his extensive knowledge and experience to teach film and television production.
